SOURCE OF INSPIRATION: RATERIAN ICONOGRAPHY
The oldest known representation of the city of Verona,
contained in a 10th-century Belgian codex that is now lost.
​
The work is still viewable at the Verona Chapter Library through two 18th-century copies:
one handwritten, which belonged to the intellectual Scipione Maffei,
and one printed to accompany a volume by Giambattista Biancolini.
