RUN WITH
WALCE APS (Women Against Lung Cancer in Europe) is the leading Italian association for the fight against thoracic cancers.
WALCE has been active since 2006 against lung cancer through information and support initiatives for affected individuals and their families, and awareness campaigns for the general population, with the aim of building a sense of community.
WHAT DOES WALCE DO?
WALCE's commitment is directed towards patients and families, clinicians, institutions, the general population, and schools with the aim of: informing, raising awareness, promoting prevention, supporting treatment, empowering patients by "making their voices heard" to ensure their needs are recognized.
DISCOVER THE AMAti PROJECT (Adapted Motor Activity)
AMAti is the national project aimed at supporting people affected by lung cancer in the practice of physical exercise.

ADAPTED PHYSICAL ACTIVITY (AMA)
Increasingly, studies confirm that regular movement can counteract and/or prevent multiple problems associated with therapies, such as weight changes, changes in body composition, heart problems, muscle weakness, and physical inactivity. To support and assist individuals in engaging in physical exercise, a course of Adapted Physical Activity (AMA) has been designed – structured and programmed physical activity that allows individuals with a stabilized chronic condition to benefit from the effects of movement.

HOW DOES THE COURSE WORK?
The course is led by Kinesiologists specialized in the treatment of cancer patients and requires a preliminary medical evaluation. The activities take place in small groups of a maximum of 6-7 participants, with two 50-minute sessions per week. For both planned groups, the program will last for 3 months and will also include exercises to be performed independently at home.
